mr pink media about me

I have always been inspired to paint for as long as I can remember. Perhaps because it is such an escape from the real world, although sometimes equally challenging.

Growing up, painting was one of the few things I could honestly say I loved to do. That feeling never left me.

Things that make me say "Wow, I want to paint that are Town scenes with life and people, Vibrant and surreal coastal sunsets/skies and the icons surrounding my youth such as Jimi Hendrix and many other bands.

I am currently working full - time in The Darryl Nantais Gallery, Linton, Cambridgeshire as a picture framer which is great, as well as producing works which will soon go into print and getting ready for new exhibitions of my work.

Personal D etails :
Date of birth: 22/11/80 Education History: 5 GCSE's at grades A - C, followed by a Distinction in GNVQ Advanced Art at Long Road Sixth Form College, Cambridge.

Work History:
After Long Road Sixth Form I went straight in to an Apprenticeship in Stone - masonry at Ivett and Reed in Cambridge. I then moved on to join Hibbitts masonry in Cambridge before leaving to concentrate on my art work, which I found was being neglected due to my previous job. Shortly after that I helped in refurbishing The Darryl Nantais Gallery in Linton, where I am now employed as a Framer/Guilder on a full time basis.

Exhibition History:
Previous to working at the Darryl Nantais Gallery I had only exhibited in craft fairs and local exhibitions. I then started exhibiting my work at the gallery and helped out with several shows before exhibiting my work with Darryl in a two man show at the end of September 2002, which turned out to be very successful - as I sold 18 out of 24 paintings on show.

I now exhibit work at 'Something Different' in Treadgold lane, Cambridge - as well as Don Pasquale's Restaurant in Cambridge.

Other Details:
I also produce several Limited Edition Prints of popular Cambridge scenes (The Market Square and also Rose Crescent) which can be bought from Don Pasquale's Restaurant in the Market Square, Cambridge - as well as the aforementioned gallerys. Later in the year I intend to produce more limited runs. The current prints complement the Cambridge scene cards which I have been doing for the past couple of years.
